Create a Star Citizen Account
Creating a free Star Citizen account is easy if you follow the steps below.
1 Step 1 — Click "Enlist Now" in the header of this website
Or, simply follow this link: RSI Account Creation.
2 Step 2 — Create account
This will take you to Star Citizen’s account creation page. Once here, you will be asked to come up with a unique account name or call sign, your email, a password, date of birth, and a referral code which has been prepopulated.
If the Referral Code field is blank, enter: STAR-SFVL-W7BT Agree to the Terms of Service (which I highly recommend you read), and click "Enlist Now."
3 Step 3 — Account creation completed
Your first step is complete! Click "Account" to confirm you have received the 50k free in-game credits (also known as UEC).
IMPORTANT: Be sure to activate your account! You will receive an email from CIG with the subject line "RSI Account Activation" - be sure to click the link provided. If you do not, you may miss out on the 50,000 in-game credits!
Purchase a Game Package
If you enjoyed your time during a Star Citizen Free Fly event, be sure to pick up a game pack so you can keep the fun rolling!
4 Step 4 — Visit the Pledge Store
Click "Pledge Store" and then "Game Packages" to visit the Cloud Imperium Games / Roberts Space Industries shop.
Note: now is a good time to disable ad blockers, as they may interfere with the checkout process.
5 Step 5 — Pick a Pack
A "Game Package" is any pack that includes access to Star Citizen. While there are a variety of "starter packs" available that contain different starter ships, let's focus on two ideal Star Citizen Game Packages:
1. Most Affordable: Citizen Starter Pack: The Citizen Starter Pack contains the Mustang Alpha, a light freighter that can carry 4 SCU of cargo with a nose mounted turret boasting 2x size 1 weapons. Price = $45 USD. 2. Fan Favorite: Duelist 'Holiday' Starter Pack: The Duelist Starter Pack comes with the beloved Avenger Titan. Capable of carrying 8 SCU of cargo, the Titan packs a punch with a single size 4 nose gun and 2x size 3 wing-mounted guns. Additionally, the Titan features a bed which allows for rapid login and logouts. This pack is currently on sale and includes the Deck the Hull paint and the IceBreak Paint! Price = $60 USD (normally $75). Once you make your choice, click "Add to Cart."
6 Step 6 — Begin the Checkout Process
At this point, confirm that you selected the correct package and that quantity = 1.
Click "Continue."
7 Step 7 — Update Information
Click "Add a new address" to the right of the Billing Information section.
Fill in all applicable fields and click "Confirm."
8 Step 8 — Place Order
Click "Proceed to Pay."
9 Step 9 — Fine Print
Once you click place order you will be presented with a disclaimer: Please read it! This game is in open development and you should be aware of what you are pledging for.
Once you've finished reading, click "I Agree."
10 Step 10 — Complete Payment
Choose from the payment options available to you. Credit card information can be entered directly on the site, but other payment options may open separate windows for you to complete the transaction (allow pop-ups).
Once all information is entered, click "Place Order."
